Meet Dr. Milton V. Massey
“After 40 years of private practice, dentistry is still very exciting. All the technological advances in equipment, restorative materials, delivery systems, lasers and computers have made each passing year seem like the ‘first year’ for something new and exciting to learn and master. In today’s world, a ‘dentist of excellence’ must never forget the basic principals he or she was taught in dental school, but must also embrace the concept of being a ‘student for life’ through yearly continuing education.”
Dr. Massey completed his undergraduate studies at Mars Hill College and the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. In 1963 he earned his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from the UNC School of Dentistry. He is a member of the O.K.U. honors dental society. After serving two years in the US Navy Dental Corps at Camp Pendleton, California, he began his private practice in Brevard, NC in August of 1965. He is a member of the Transylvania County Dental Society, the North Carolina Dental Society, and the American Dental Association.
He has extensive experience and training in all areas of family dentistry, including: Cosmetic Dentistry, Endodontics (root canals), Laser Dentistry, Operative Dentistry (fillings), Oral Surgery, Prosthodontics (fixed crown and bridge and removable partial and complete dentures), Pedodontics (children’s dentistry), and Periodontics (gum problems).
He and his wife of 18 years, Cynthia, have four children and seven grandchildren. Dr. Massey’s hobbies include RV travel and camping, spending time at the lake, computers and wood carving.
